A muffle furnace is a critical component for high-temperature laboratory heating, enabling samples to be heat-treated at temperatures exceeding 1000°C (1832°F) with low risk of cross-contamination.It is used for analyses of Ash content of Powdered raw material, semifinished and finished Products.Ash value is useful in determining authenticity and purity of sample and also these values are important qualitative standards. Analysis of ash content is simply burning away of organic material and leaving behind the minerals of herbs.The ash determination method allows to identify quickly and easily the physiological and non-physiological materials.

It is an important aspect of quality testing of powdered herbs or extract and is used to analyze the moisture content of raw material, semi-finished and finished products to control the quality of products.

Quality Objectives

Disintegration Tester is a solid state instrument designed for the accurate estimation of disintegration time of tablets as per standards. The instrument is designed to test a batch of six tablets. Disintegration testers are used to analyze the quality of disintegration of capsules and tablets. A drug in pellet form will disintegrate in solution. This test is provided to determine whether tablets or capsules disintegrate within the prescribed time when placed in a liquid medium under the experimental conditions like temperature.

Quality Compliance

Friability testing is a laboratory technique used by the pharmaceutical industry to test the durability of tablets during transit. The result is inspected for broken tablets, and the percentage of tablet mass lost through chipping. Friability, the condition of being friable, describes the tendency of a solid substance to break into smaller pieces under duress or contact, especially by rubbing. The standard test procedure is to take a sample of 10 tablets, the weight of which has already been determined (W1). The tablets should be de-dusted prior to weighing.

Quality Mantra

The Soxhlet extraction method integrates the advantages of the reflux extraction and percolation, which utilizes the principle of reflux and siphoning to continuously extract the herb with fresh solvent. In a method of extracting active principles from a herbal material using percolation by passing an amount of a solvent through a bed of herbal material contained in a vessel to form a liquid extract, whereby the liquid extract is recirculated through the bed of herbal material for a period of time while maintaining temperature.
